The large municipal parking lot to use with the bicycle trail is a quarter block to the north and a quarter block to the west which is just off of Dayton Yellow Springs Rd. The parking lot is next to the bike trail on the north side of this street.
On a normal day, the parking lot next to the bike trail appears to be able to handle a moderate number of cars.

At the trail entry I am also about 5 miles from the trailhead in Milford, so the mileage from home is about the same as from the trailhead.
I stop for a short rest every 75 to 90 minutes.  Temperature is in the high 60s and overcast.  I ate cereal and fruit for breakfast, and snack bars a little after 10:00.  The sky clears gradually, and the trail dries out between 10 and 11.
I’ve ridden the trail from Cincinnati to Xenia many times, so it’s very familiar.  The Little Miami River is running quite high from the rain.  Trail activity is light for a summer Saturday morning.

Our experience on the trail was riding through quiet natural areas where you could spot various kinds of wildlife, through farming areas which I always enjoy, and through unique little villages where you can find ice cream shops (our favorite) or other places to buy prepared food or snacks.
