		The Little Tennessee River is a tributary of the Tennessee River, approximately 135 mi (217 km) long, in the Appalachian Mountains in the southeastern United States.
		The lower river is impounded several places by sequential dams, some created as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority system, forming a string of reservoirs in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee down to its confluence with the Tennessee.
		The Little Tennessee River was once known as the Tennessee River, receiving the name from the Cherokee town of Tanasi.

		The Tennessee River is the largest tributary to the Ohio River and is its equal in water volume.
		Although the Tennessee was one of the largest rivers east of the Mississippi, the presence of powerful Indian nations along its banks coupled with a number of significant navigational hazards prevented the river from becoming a major migration route for European settlers moving west.
		During the Civil War, the Tennessee River generally was seen as something to be crossed and was not widely used as a military route, although the Union army did transport some troops by water, chiefly in the western valley.

		In my opinion, for such a simple river, the end is a tad tougher than Nanty Falls, but without the Class-2 entrance.
		Then there is a drop that was pretty signifigant the day we went out, but the drop is only on the left side of the river and straight into a crazy hole.
		The river is channeled all to one side so right near that crazy hole was a huge wave.

		The river in this location had some old Cherokee Indian weirs built of rock that were used to funnel fish to their baskets/nets, as well as many areas of rapids and whitewater.
