		Clapton explains that he was first exposed to the music of Bob Marley and the Wailers in April, 1974, by noted Florida session guitarist George Terry, who played Clapton the Burnin' album during recording for Eric's "461 Ocean Boulevard" at Miami's Criteria Studios.

		All aspects of his life are studied, from his poverty-stricken upbringing in Jamaica, through his co-founding of the Wailers along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, his solo career, and eventually, the incidents leading up to his violent and tragic death in 1987.

	Metroactive Music The Skatalites
		Members of the Skatalites served as session players on breakthrough recordings by Bob Marley and the Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, and Desmond Dekker.
		In 1978, Island Records chief Chris Blackwell, responsible for Marley's widespread fame, convinced the surviving members of the Skatalites to reunite in the studio (Drummond, who'd had a history of mental illness, had died in 1969 in Bellevue Sanitarium after being convicted of the 1964 murder of his girlfriend).

		The record was "Simmer Down," and over the next few years the Wailing Wailers-- Bob, Peter Mclntosh and Bunny Livingston, the nucleus of the group -- put out some 30 sides that properly established them as one of the hottest groups in Jamaica.
		His first two tunes, cut as a solo artist, meant nothing in commercial terms and it wasn't until 1964, as a founding member of a group called the Wailing Wailers, that Bob first hit the Jamaican charts.
