bad brains what a great band here is sum of their songs recorded live in 84 i think.
Bad Brains have to have been at this time, the tightest band I have ever heard play live (which I did on numerous occasions 1988-1993).
This is perhaps the album where Bad Brains are most effective at fusing punk and raggae together within their songs rather then just within their set.

 CD Baby: BAD BRAINS: S/T
Bad Brains quickly became one of the most popular punk bands on the East Coast, particularly in their hometown of Washington, D.C. Their live performances were legendary, but their recordings were difficult to find.
The handful of indie recordings Bad Brains left behind, as well as their live shows, made the band legends in American hardcore, yet few potential fans could actually hear the band due to poor distribution and erratic touring.
In addition to the Bad Brains tape, the group released a handful of other EPs in 1982, finally moving to PVC for 1983's full-length debut Rock for Light, which was produced by Ric Ocasek.

Bad Brains day may finally be arriving if HR can keep his head.
There's enough good stuff here to justify Bad Brain's existence in 1995 but their highly influential past is still proving a little hard to live up to.
Whether this is a concession to HR or not isn't clear, but it doesn't really matter because in the tradition of Bad Brains reggae exploits, it's all top stuff.
