"Set 1" is a mix of covers and originals, including Thela hun Ginjeet (King Crimson) and Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pink Floyd).

Rough Edge: Les Claypool's Frog Brigade CD Reviews
Frog Brigade doesn't have the rich, over-the-top, full-orchestra sound that Pink Floyd manage (even on an album as relatively stripped down as "Animals").
This live CD was recorded at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on October 8 and 9, 2000.
Frog Brigade is: Les Claypool - bass; Jay Lane - drums; Jeff Chimenti - keyboard; Todd Huth - guitar; Eenor - guitar and Skerik - saxophone.

This is an absolutely brilliant set from a duo who were amongst a '60s '70s movement who brought brilliant song crafting and writing to a popular culture which had previously been practically devoid of it (the occasional Cole Porter or Gershwin being exceptions).
This Friday night live CD helps convey to the world that the services he is a part of in LA, Friday Night Live at Sinai Temple, and One Shabbat Morning take the whole concept of prayer, spirituality and Judaism to the next level.
This is truly an amazing album, capturing one of the great bands in music history live in first rate form, though not in their best incarnation.

 AMZ - August, 2001 - Stella
Recorded live last summer in San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, Live Frogs Volume 1 is an amazing assortment of precision chaos ranging from the delicate accuracy of a prog rock masterpiece to flat-out thrashin' guitar, thumpin' bass, squealin' sax and frenetic drumming...
Homegrown songs outnumber covers on Volume 1 however as Les and company perform "Riddles are Abound Tonight," "Shattering Song" and "Girls for Single Men," all culled from Claypool's side project "Sausage" (a band featuring Todd Huth (guitar) and Jay Lane (drums) who both, conveniently enough, became draftees of the Frog Brigade).
This is live remember, so there aren't any of the barking sound effects and stuff like that, but still it's a rendition that oozes respect for the original and puts to bed any concerns I had about this album to start with.

CD Reviews: Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, Blues Traveler, the Black Crowes (NY Rock)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-22)
Despite the tightness of the band, there's a '70s free-jam feel to much of the material, in part because live albums were so much in vogue at that time, and in part due to the choice of the material, such as covers of King Crimson and Pink Floyd.
My guess though is that Claypool chose the live version not only because he's a busy man, but also to showcase the musicianship, which is quite good, and the immediacy of the technically challenging songs.
Blues Traveler are set to tour relentlessly, as they have in the past, and the addition of the new material found on Bridge should find a welcome home on their set lists.

Live Frogs, Set 1 is a tremendous jam album, giving equal amounts of time to every musician to screw around and just play whatever the hell they want for a few minutes.
The live version for Running The Guantlet is also superior to the studio version (anyone seeing a trend here?), featuring a lot of cool soloing from everyone, and fantastic drum work which will probably go unnoticed by the majority.
But Live Frogs Set 1 still has the best selection of the Frog Brigade's music on it, and is a good place for newcomers to start.

After a decade spent fruitlessly tweaking the nose of alt-rock with tunes such as 1995’s hit “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” Primus bassist-frontman Les Claypool moves to the jam-band scene with his six-man Frog Brigade.

I enjoyed Postcards from the Hanging very much - the dead covering Dylan live and so its not much of a stretch that I like this album so much with four of the fifteen songs being Dylan covers.
I've always enjoyed hearing one of those big organs played with a full "churchy" sound and Melvin Seals' performance on keyboards is a great compliment to Jerry's guitar work and voacals, but the rest of the band is excellent, too.

Claypool's idiosyncratic singing and trebly, bullish bass dominate the group's attack on Frizzle Fry, which reprises five songs from the live record.
Cleaner sound and extra production touches (a few guitar overdubs, some neat vocal trickery) also enhance the abrasive kinetics of the songs.
Meanwhile, Claypool gives good wordplay — lively metaphor-hopping laced with prickly social complaint — in his stream-of-consciousness stoner's blues "Spegetti Western" and "Harold of the Rocks" and the droll protest of "Too Many Puppies" and "Pudding Time."
