		This whole album is filled with scathing fury, mostly directed at the impossible situation that confronts women when they are asked to be both wild sources of pleasure and unblemished mother figures.
		Live Through This uses the same recipe of punk and metal wrapped around pop melodies that made Nirvana so captivating, but Hole uses the methodology in a more conventional manner.
		The metal ingredient tends to dominate, perhaps because it's the simplest to master, and too often the album resembles early Heart or late Joan Jett--particularly when Courtney Love opens up with her big, wailing voice.

	Live Through This by Hole CD
		LIVE THROUGH THIS would have been an important record even without the heartbreaking overtones surrounding Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain and their daughter Frances Bean.
		The lyrics are powerful and sometimes disturbing, delivered in full force by Courtney (whether she hollers and wails or speaks in a tender whisper, the power of her voice is there)Although I wouldnt call Courtneys voice good in the classic-traditional sense, it is more powerful than any other female singer I have ever heard.
		My other favourte songs off Live through this are "Credit in the Straight world", "Jennfifers Body", "Asking for it" and "Gutless." Musically, things are not not groundbreaking or amazingly complicated but hole does manage to conjure up a very listenable sound, beautiful acoustic strumming and wailing--pure rock guitars with punk rock overtones.
