Billed as the second volume of the "Performance Series" -- clearly, the numbers are assigned chronologically in order of recording, not release -- Live at the Fillmore East is not dissimilar to the subsequent entries in Dylan's bootleg series: it focuses on a specific, significant tour in Young's past.
The main complaint that can be lodged against Live at the Fillmore East is that it's not a complete representation of a 1970 show.

Cypress Hill: Live at the Fillmore - PopMatters Music Review
Live hip-hop albums are relatively rare, an odd fact considering that hip-hop started entirely in a live setting.
On one level, Live at the Fillmore is a perfect portrait of what Cypress has done live for years; turning up the volume and blowing audiences away, along with the occasional weed break (like the three-song medley here of "I Wanna Get High", "Stoned Is the Way of the Walk" and "Hits From the Bong".
Cypress Hill's music isn't thoroughly hip-hop anymore, but Live at the Fillmore is quite an accurate document of where they are now and where they'll likely head in the near future, like it or not.

In their walk-through of the Fillmore, the bandmembers display a healthy respect for its history, but they are not at all in awe of it, which bespeaks a confidence in their own abilities to carry on the tradition they revere.
All of which is harbinger of the good news delivered by Live At The Fillmore which both reinforces the strength of BHTM as live performers as well as erasing for the most part the negative impression left by their previous studio album released earlier this year.
Live At The Fillmore concludes with their rendition of a tune recorded by Eric Clapton himself, in whose hands the song seems like little more than commercial fodder for the album on which it appeared (Mohr can compose material superior to that in the form of “Resignation superman).

A live album, on the other hand, is essentially a record of an actual musical event, and there is a lot to be said for attempting to re-create that event for the listener at home.
Although that re-creation may require a little help or exaggeration to make up for the lack of visual cues and the general excitement of "being there," it probably does not require wrapping the musicians around the listener.
