Evil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The evil peaks in the violence of hatred that is at the origin of all the crimes, of all the wars and of all the genocides.
Evil is a term describing that which is regarded as morally bad, intrinsically corrupt, wantonly destructive, inhumane, or wicked.
Evil may be personified in the form of a figure of evil, such as Satan.

Live Evil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Live Evil is the first and only Ronnie James Dio-fronted live album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in 1982 (see 1982 in music).
A partial video record the 'Live Evil' shows was recorded and released on video mixed in with portions of a Blue Oyster Cult show.
The album was recorded live in Seattle, San Antonio and Dallas and was the first "official" live album released by the band.

Diamond Head : Evil Live - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Evil Live can be recommended solely based on the performances of these two hard rock virtuosos, but this disc (like a great majority of the group's albums) can hardly stand up to Diamond Head's revolutionary debut.
More than a couple interesting cover tunes populate the second half of Evil Live, with Montrose's "Rock the Nation" standing out as a clear highlight.
The live set is sadly short on material from Diamond Head's one and only substantial release, the untitled debut that later became known as Lightning to the Nations or The White Album.

Ground and Sky review - Miles Davis - Live-Evil
The live tracks are from a 1970 band performance at the Cellar Door in Washington, D.C. The lineup is notable for including Keith Jarrett on keyboards (electric piano, no less!) and John McLaughlin sitting in.
The live material sounds to me more like an extension (and abstraction) of Jack Johnson than a development of what his electric band was doing circa Bitches Brew, and since I've always preferred Jack Johnson anyway, I consider this to be a positive.
While these live tracks are interesting to varying degrees (except for "Funky Tonk," which meanders too much), they are all definitely overindulgent in terms of their length.

 normblog: Live evil
Evil cannot always be repelled by incantations, by demonstrations, by social analysis or by psychoanalysis.
In other words, the modern social sciences were the first major attempt to kick both good and evil off the human stage.
Some time in the 19th century, not so long after Goethe died, a new thinking entered western culture that brushed evil aside, indeed denied its very existence.

 MILES DAVIS / LIVE-EVIL
The live stuff is a different animal entirely, and is arguably as close as Davis ever got to actual integration of rock and funk into his music.
Most of Davis’ other live albums from the period are a lot spottier than this one, especially as he got closer to retirement.
As engaging as the studio material was, it is the live music that gives this release its teeth.

Miles Davis - @ Jazz Pipeline .com
His recordings, along with the live performances of his many seminal bands, were vital in jazz's increased artistic acceptance and, as well as an innovator, he was a populariser, with a languid, melodic style that was more readily comprehensible to non-jazz fans than the hard bebop that had preceded it.
Despite the mixed quality of much of his recorded output, live Davis was still capable of moments, and entire concerts, of great inspiration.
In May they played two dates as part of the Newport jazz Festival and the concerts, and the live recording We Want Miles from the ensuing tour, were well reviewed.

Live Evil by Black Sabbath CD
Dio left Sabbath shortly before Live Evil was released in January 1983, and the band later went through some ill-advised personnel changes that effectively killed the aura of mystery and mystique that was so integral to Sabbath's appeal.
Released in January 1983, LIVE EVIL was competing against Ozzy Osbourne's live SPEAK OF THE DEVIL for the dominant share of Black Sabbath fans' favor.
Live Evil remains a good encapsulation of Sabbath's early 1980s era with Dio.

Yes Evil, you have never called a game a "rehash" but you also deligated The Wind Waker as being a pot-breaking simulator when you had played it at a kiosk for 5 minutes.
Actually, Evil, the dialog and soundtrack (remastered, of course) sound pretty much identical to the original version on the N64 (which I loved, btw).

Embattled members of the former Yugoslavia's three principal groups papered their cities with posters, dozens of which have been collected by Daoud Sarhandi and Alina Boboc in Evil Doesn't Live Here: Posters from the Bosnian War.
Evil did flourish elsewhere in Bosnia in countless ways, none expressed more potently than in the appalling euphemism "ethnic cleansing," which the rest of the world picked up as shorthand for systematic rape, torture, and murder.
The book is a disturbing reminder of a conflict that is in remission but remains uncured, as well as of ongoing ethnic and religious wars led by a handful of propaganda masters who exploit the centuries-old feuds of neighbors.

Black Sabbath : Live Evil - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Accusations aside, 1982's Live Evil benefits from a clear, "in your face" sound, and despite relying heavily on Dio-era material, the album effectively documents Black Sabbath's tours in the early '80s.
Black Sabbath's first attempt at an official live album was the straw that broke the camel's back; or rather, it split the band's second lineup right down the middle.
Band tensions were already at an all-time high, but when founding members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler accused singer Ronnie James Dio of sneaking into the studio to raise the volume on his vocals, the pint-sized warbler decided it was time to pursue a solo career, taking drummer Vinny Appice with him.

Encountering Evil: Live Options in Theodicy, edited by Stephen T. Davis surveys the foundational points of view in the struggle to comprehend this most enigmatic mystery of God’s interaction with the order of creation.
To posit that God may not be “all good” and further may, in fact, have a “demonic side” that allows evil and suffering to exist is a tough sell in light of two thousand years of Christian tradition that holds as its basic premise the absolute goodness of God.
