RPGnet: The Inside Scoop on Gaming
Dallas, TX - March 13, 1999 - Living Room Games announces it has acquired a license from FASA Corporation to publish supplements for the Earthdawn roleplaying game, reviving it from a 14-month moratorium.
Earthdawn has been described by many as a 'post-apocalyptic fantasy roleplaying game.' The people of Barsaive are still recovering from a globe-spanning holocaust brought on by the astral monstrosities known only as the Horrors.
Living Room Games, founded in 1999 by an enthusiastic group of artists and writers, is a Dallas-based publisher of roleplaying, board, and card games.

The game differs from the fantasy troupe of games such as Dungeons & Dragons but draws heavily upon games such as Runequest.
The game is tightly bound to its setting, a region called Barsaive[?].

 The Lore Merchant: Game Reviews
Earthdawn's Second Edition (released by Living Room Games in June 2001) is no exception, with this screen released in 2002.
While adjustments to your attributes in-game may require you to determine these new statistics, it happens rarely enough that I question the need to have these tables printed on the screen -- especially when they're basically illegible from the other end of the table.
Errata available on the Living Room Games website indicates that steps 26 through 28 are incorrect, and gives the corrected dice.

Games with over 20 players might be difficult to control, even in person, but GhostOrb can seat far more players than that, if you wish.
Optimal games on GhostOrb are usually a single GM and about 5 players (with two or three non-player characters thrown in with them).
Tournaments and competitions are more likely to require the larger numbers that GhostOrb is able to handle, but personal games may also be ran as large as a GM is willing to handle.

 The Lore Merchant: Game Reviews
Living Room Games announced that one of their first supplements would be Barsaive at War.
This is the biggest weakness of this chapter; player characters are reduced to witnessing the battle, which is a series of major events that swing the battle one way, and then another.
There are a number of significant "plot moments" that, while cool on one level, have the potential to drag the pacing of a game.

 The Lore Merchant: Game Balance
The discussion followed several different threads, and I was eventually moved to write this, which is less about game balance than it is about some of my theories on game design (which includes game balance).
The balance in the game (because I believe the game is balanced) is environmental -- enforced not by rules that cut back power on strong characters and boost weak ones, but by a setting that operates a certain way.
The closer one's game style is to the development style of a setting, the less conflict you will find with the setting based rules.
