Crested Barbet Trachyphonus vaillantii: 1 was east of Mvuu in Liwonde NP on 20/10 and 1 was at the western end of Kazuni Lake at Vwaza Marsh on 29/10 with 3 in the area to the north and west of the lake on 30/10.
Black-crowned Tchagra Tchagra senegalis: 1 was at the Lilongwe NS on 15/10, 1 was at the Dzalanyama Forest on 16/10, 1 was north of Zomba on 17/10, 1 was at Mvuu Lodge in Liwonde NP on 20/10, and 1 was east of Kazuni Lake at Vwaza Marsh on 29/10.

Stirring to bring back lions to the Liwonde National Park, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife and the Chinguni Trust have organised a Safari Party at the Cappineros on Friday night.
In an interview, Nicole Larson, fund-raising manager for the Re-Lion Liwonde Campaign, said six lions are expected to be brought to Malawi from Ladybrand, South Africa.

The Nyasa Lovebird (Agapornis nigrigenis) is rare and endemic to Malawi and its distribution is confined to the Liwonde area.
Its distribution is rapidly becoming restricted to LNP because their feeding and breeding habitats are being exploited over for agricultural purposes.
