Both the Lizard and "Lizard Junior" were eventually captured and transformed back to human, but the future effects of the Lizard formula on Billy Connors remain to be seen.
The Lizard's next appearance after this was as a member of the Sinister Twelve, where he showed no indication of being controlled by the mind of Dr. Connors.
The Lizard later went on to appear in the episodes "Tablet of Time", "The Ravages of Time", "The Final Nightmare", "The Lizard King" and the "Secret Wars" 3-part episode from the end of this series' run in 1997.

The Lizard has stated on multiple occasions that his goal is reptilian domination of the world.
Could the Lizard's religious beliefs be described as "Reptilianism?" If the Lizard were to form an organized religious congregation, he would need congregational autonomy, so perhaps the Southern Baptist Convention would be a better denomination for him.

At one point, the villain Calypso apparently put the Lizard under her control, but it was actually a clone of Connor's Lizard-form.
Like a gecko lizard, his hands and feet have retractable 1-inch hooks growing from the base of his palm and the ball of his foot, and his fingers and toes are covered with scores of tiny claws to create adhesive pads.
When the Lizard, the R-complex of Connors' brain (the most primitive region of the human brain containing the most bestial drives) takes over the cerebellum, causing Connors' mind to become progressively inhuman.

The last time we saw the Lizard in this magazine was in issue #81 in the story Jungle Stalkings, where Spidey fought the Lizard one-on-one.
Lizard sics his slithering forces on the armed forces, while Spidey reaches for his vial of anti-serum (never tackle a lizard without one).
Given that a Lizard story had to be written, Ferg Handley did at least manage to get a minor sub-plot in there with the gang's summer holiday, and pulling in the army gives some variation.

The Lizard of Oz is done, and I can continue into my 40s with a free spirit and an arsenal of techniques that I've perfected for myself.
Head on over to any of those great sites Mark just mentioned to glom onto some of his and his legendary dad's wonderfully fun [and often delightfully dirty] comics, toys based on their work, and more info on both of these fine artists' lives and work.

In the comics, Dr. Connors lost an arm, and played around with reptilian DNA in an attempt to learn how to regenerate his missing limb.
Actually, the Lizard has always had more of a lizard head than man head in the comics, but I think the inclusion of the "fins" is what really bugs me. If you don't mind the general look, then I'm betting your score in this category will be higher than mine.
The Lizard might have nasty claws, and pointy teeth, but like his cousin the alligator, you best be watching out for the tail.

Well, I was thinking it was probably the Magneto syndrome...Magneto didn't appear that old in the comics, but in the movies they had to stay true to his experience with the concentration camps in the 1940's and justified his age...I was just wondering if there was some particular war that Connors lost his arm..
Actually, the Spidey comics have never stated which war Connors lost his arm in, and that was a wise idea.
I've chosen to assume that Lizard is under control of Norman Osborn through the use of whatever formula transformed Connors into Lizzy in prison and gave him the new phermone powers seen in MKSM #7.

At times, the book seems like an X-rated version of those awful Marvel Comics movie adaptations from the 1970’s and early 80’s.
The Lizard of Oz’s saving grace is Mark’s color comix illustrations.
His drawing style is close to his father’s, but Mark has a looser line and his colors blaze with impressionist fever; the art alone is worth the price of admission.

This is one of the first comics that I owned (as opposed to hand-me-downs from my older brothers)--my mom bought it for me while I was home sick from school.
This was part of a three-pack of Batman comics I bought at the local five-and-dime not long after the Batman movie came out in the summer of 1989.

He was the Lizard and Conners is the Lizard who pretends it is a curse when it is no more than him putting on a mask.
This is such a butchering of the character the Lizard, Lee created him to be the Jekyll and Hyde of the Spidey universe.
I liked the savage Lizard change that McFarlen brought in but Jenkins obviously has no grasp of the character hence why there are so many continuity inacccuracies.
