The median income for a household in the county is $34,830, and the median income for a family is $40,597.

Llano, the county seat, is seventy-two miles northwest of Austin and near the center point of the county, which lies at approximately 98'40° west longitude and 30'45° north latitude.

Llano, the county seat and largest town of Llano County, is on the Llano River and State Highway 71, seventy-five miles northwest of Austin.
After the county outgrew the one-story stone building that had housed its public offices, in 1885 an ornate brick courthouse was completed on the square on the south side of the river.
The population of Llano was 2,960 in 1950, 3,071 in 1980, and 2,962 in 1990.

On this day the storms moved slowly providing numerous chances for photography until they got into the rugged hill country of southern Llano and Gillespie Counties.
The large storm complex to the north may be seen in the background of some of the images.
