  Lee Bellfield - Boxing News
Lloyd Honeyghan of Bermondsey, London was perceived as the strongest of the title holders.
Born in 1960, Honeyghan had won the British, European and Commonwealth Welterweight championships in his first five years as a professional.
Although undefeated, Honeyghan was a massive underdog when in September 1986 he travelled to Atlantic City to face world number one, Donald Curry.

Lloyd Honeyghan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lloyd Honeyghan (born April 22, 1960) is a retired British boxer.
Known as the 'Ragamuffin Man', in reference to his Jamaican roots, Honeyghan stunned the boxing fraternity when he knocked out super-star Donald Curry in seven rounds on September 24 of 1986 to win the world Welterweight title.
Honeyghan disagreed with the WBA's rules that allowed fights to take place in apartheid South Africa, so he publicly dumped the WBA world Welterweight belt into a London trash bin soon after winning it.

 Honeyghan-Curry Remembered
Lloyd Honeyghan was a complex character; did not suffer fools, could appear brusque and arrogant, yet in interviews often appeared cordial and amiable.
Lloyd's shaven head, intentionally or not, was also a problem to the American, as the challenger burrowed away head down winging looking to end the fight with one mighty blow.
Lloyd tried to climb the summit again on 3 March 1990, but was almost pitiful, being floored six times en route to a three round defeat.

Eastman like Honeyghan is a world class operator who is undoubtedly dangerous, but is he any real threat to a champion as established as Hopkins.
Both Honeyghan and Eastman are undoubtedly eccentric (verging on oddballs, to be fair), and this is where their tremendous self-belief perhaps stems from.
Honeyghan however, had the audacity to bet $5000 on himself at 5-1 and boldly claim he would " smash his face in " which of course he came close to achieving.
