 | | KINSHASA, December 30 -- Lobito Commercial Port director, Jose Carlos Gomes, said today in this city that the administration has been contacted by industrial businessmen from Katanga mining plants, in DR Congo, to resume gold exportation through Lobito corridor. |
 | | In an interview to ANGOP, Carlos Gomes stated that there are more than 4000 tonnes waiting to be exported, through Lobito Port, a fact that opens new perspectives for the Port company, which lately has been forced to explore less than 50 per cent of its capacity. |
 | | The Port of Lobito before the civil war up to 1975 was used by the DR Congo mining industries to export minerals like gold, copper, silver and other goods. |
