Lobo's pitbull who seems to follow him everywhere and the hair dresser. Physically, Lobo resembles a chalk-white human male with blood-red pupilless eyes surrounded by fl mascara-like patches.
The Lobos then turned on each other, until only one was left; in the process, the surviving Lobo regrew to adulthood. An additional teenage Lobo remained, having hidden from the fight; he rejoined Young Justice and chose to rename himself Slo-bo.

Lobo has much in common with Superman, beyond the mere fact that both are published by DC Comics.
Lobo first appeared in the third issue (June, 1983) of DC's Omega Men (a series set in interstellar space), which was written by Roger Slifer (formerly of Marvel Comics) and drawn by Keith Giffen (Ambush Bug, Legion of Super Heroes).
In 1996, when DC and Marvel collaborated on Amalgam (a set of comics merging characters from their respective universes, e.g., J.L.X., an "amalgam" of DC's Justice League of America with Marvel's X-Men), the Marvel character Lobo got merged with was Howard the Duck.

Lobo is a superstrong psychopath who killed off the entire population of his home world Czarnia just for the heck of it and has at one time or another killed Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and would have killed both Superman and Vril Dox if he wasn't totally inebriated.
Tricking Lobo into thinking he's been drafted into the army, Lobo enters their base as a drill sergeant, and organises a war game on the surface of Czarnia.
Without this violence, Lobo would not be who or what he is. However, one should take note that the violence in Lobo's comics are more cartoonish than realistic.

Lobo has been DC's excuse to use the kind of politically-incorrect/bad taste humour that they couldn't get away with on, say "Justice League International." The current mini-series pretty much sticks to that formula.
Lobo's character is very much the same violent bastich, showing no signs of change whatsoever-- which is probably how his fan base likes it.
Perhaps Lobo really is better when taken in small doses-- like in specials and guest shots, rather than starring in his own book.

Reading this book took me back to when Lobo was really very popular, with his over-the-top violence and his killing of folks and that kind of thing.
Lobo's been in some good stuff—but that, too, was a long time ago.
To be fair, most of the time Buffy comics have original storylines that go along with the show, but stand apart from it, as "further adventures." This issue was not one of those. This one was the comic-ization of the "Death of Buffy" storyline that opened the current TV season.

Way later, the youngest in the satiric superhero crew the Authority (another member is a pothead, while two others are gay male lovers) reads that comic and, believing it, ropes her adult comrades into punishing the "mean clown"--Lobo, that would be.
The initial Lobo adventure excels the sequels in cleverness, but all three stories are rewarding as long as one enjoys the humor of wretched excess, of mayhem so overblown that, in the hands of ace artist Simon Bisley, anyway, it becomes psychedelically unintelligible.

I thought Lobo was a joke character, I have never seen him used anywhere where he wasn’t a joke, so I am not sure how using him as a joke in a kids book could be bad.
Not saying that to irritate the Lobo fans, honestly, I have never seen the character used seriously, didn’t know he could be.
Tuckenie, Lobo is thrust into outrgeous satarical situations where we learn what is good by doing the oposite of his immoral and bloody choices.

My grandmother had taught me to read at an early age, and I got the whole panoply of UK comics every week (UK comics are weekly rather than monthly).
Most were humor or boys' adventure comics - The Beano, The Dandy, The Topper, The Beezer, Buster, The New Hotspur and a dozen others.
I once met Brunner at a World SF Con; when I was introduced to him, in front of a huge bunch of people, he said very loudly: "So you're the bastard who's been stealing all my ideas for Judge Dredd." I stopped reading fiction that very day.
