	Local group may bid for Globe - The Boston Globe
		It is unclear whether the Boston group is willing to sign a formal pledge not to interfere in the editorial process, as the new buyers in Philadelphia did.
		Advertising revenue for the New England Media Group, which includes the Globe and the Worcester Telegram, is down 10 percent for the year through September.
		In Philadelphia, the new local owners are already saying layoffs are "unavoidable" because of a "permanent" decline in national newspaper advertising.

	The Local Group
		Observations and calculations suggest that the group is highly dynamic and has changed significantly in the past: The galaxies around the large elliptical Maffei 1 have probably been once part of our galaxy group.
		The next more distant galaxy groups, the NGC 4244 group and the CVn I Cloud (with M94 and M64) are probably too remote to have interacted significantly with the Local Group in the past.
		It is of interest that of the subgroups of the Local Group mentioned above, the NGC 3109 group tends to the general direction of the Maffei 1 group and the M81 group, while the Local Group Cloud tends to the general direction of the Sculptor Group.

	Local Walking Groups - The Ramblers Association

		The two largest galaxies, the Milky Way and the Andromeda, are moving towards each other at about 119 km/s instead of expanding along with the rest of the universe because the gravitational attraction between the two is stronger.
		On a larger scale, the Local Group is moving towards the Local Supercluster at about 600 km/s, but it doesn't head straight for the center of the Local Supercluster as expected.
