  Loci Theologici
Loci theologici or loci communes, are the common topics of discussion in theology.
The greatest work of this kind is "Loci communes theologici", by John Gerard, professor at Jena, published in nine volumes (1610-1622); it is the greatest and also the last.
They are: the authority of Holy Scripture, of Catholic tradition, of general councils, of the Roman Church, of the Fathers, of the Schoolmen; natural reason, the authority of philosophers and doctors in civil law, and the authority of history.

 Genius Loci :: d20srd.org
Once a genius loci animates a portion of itself to attack the boundaries of its form become clear, and the creature becomes open to attack (Survival checks to determine the extent of the genius loci are no longer necessary).
If the genius loci hits a Gargantuan or smaller creature with a slam attack, it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
The genius loci has the option to conduct the grapple normally, or simply use the part of its body it used in the improved grab to hold the opponent.

 RedOrbit - Science - Environmental Effects on the Expression of Quantitative Trait Loci and Implications for Phenotypic ...
Although mapping quantitative trait loci (the loci that underlie continuously varying quantitative traits) has a long history in agricultural and applied studies, the technique has only recently been applied to evolutionary studies.
The identification of underlying genetic loci will largely be limited to genetic model systems, that is, organisms that have been the subject of intensive developmental studies and therefore possess a range of "positional candidate loci" (loci of known function that lie in the physical region bounded by the QTL).
Despite the presence of many loci with antagonistic effects, it is worth noting that genetic correlations estimated across environments and across sexes were not significantly negative, underscoring the fact that the sum effects of all contributing loci can conceal significant heterogeneity in the behavior of individual loci.

 Math Forum: Plane Loci (Chameleon Graphing: Plane History)
Plane loci are curves that are defined by their distances from other objects in the plane.
The Greek scholar who made the most advances in the problem of plane loci is Pappus, who lived in Alexandria, Egypt.
Pappus discussed plane loci defined by the ratios and products of the distance from a point on the locus to between three and six lines.

Quantico, VA Short tandem repeat (STR) loci are highly polymorphic polymerase chain reaction-based (PCR-based) genetic markers for characterizing biological material (1-4).
Recently, these 13 STR loci were typed in sample populations of African Americans, U.S. Caucasians, Hispanics, Bahamians, Jamaicans, and Trinidadians, and the results of that analysis were published (6).
In addition, profile data are provided for the African American, U.S. Caucasian, and Hispanic samples, which were typed previously for the loci HLA-DQA1, LDLR, GYPA, HBGG, D7S8, Gc, and D1S80 (7, 8; see Table 1 of the raw data in dnaloci.txt).
