HKPRO:  Guide to HK Locking Pieces
Since the bolt head is forward to the extent of its travel, and the locking piece is attached to the bolt carrier, the locking piece is driven forward inside the bolt head.
The two locking rollers are at rest inside the bolt head, with their outer edges in line with the bolt head surface.
The locking rollers are meant to stay locked during the peak of pressure, then to gradually move into the bolt head and allow the bolt carrier system to go into recoil.

  Anti-theft locking devices - Patent 4143528
The locking bolt is lockable by a locking piece which is spring-loaded in the direction of the locking position and is held in the unlocking position by the lever in the non-swivelled state thereof.
The invention relates to a device for locking the locking bolt of a cylinder lock in its locked position when an unauthorised removal of the lock cylinder is effected, which device comprises a lever which rests against a portion of the locking cylinder and which is swivelled upon the removal of the locking cylinder.
The core of the cylinder lock 6, which is rotatable by means of a key, is coupled to a shift roller 11 which, when the lock is actuated, acts by means of a flat 12 on the lug 4 of the locking bolt 2 for the displacement thereof.

 Self-locking bolt - Patent 4470735
A feature of this invention is to provide a land on the shank of the bolt that engages a split ring that exhibits a dual camming action which (1) loads the bolt in position and (2) requires a predetermined torque to retract the bolt.
Additional threading of bolt 10 seats shoulder 14 against the top face of boss 22 locating the face 32 of land 26 to bear against the inner diameter of ring 24 to partially expand the ring 24 to hold it into groove 34 at a predetermined tension for locking the bolt into position.
Because the snap ring 24 is attached to the bolt, as the bolt is threaded into its deployed position and before the land engages the snap ring, the space provided by slot 38 allows the threading to occur with minimum radial deflection of the ring.

We tried using a stronger cylinder locking bolt spring in an attempt to force the bolt into place more quickly, but this failed to have any affect, because the bolt was being released too late to grab the cylinder and stop its rotation.
The cylinder bolt cam is located on the right side of the hammer and determines the release of the cylinder-locking bolt and the timing of the gun.
As the hammer is cocked, the cam contacts a finger on the cylinder locking bolt and raises the end of the bolt, which lowers the other end of the bolt, which releases the cylinder to rotate.

 Locking Hub
Over the years I have seen many techniques used to keep hub bolts from working loose: everything from wiring the bolts like they do on aircraft to using special washers with a tab that can be bent up to prevent the bolts from working loose.
In order for the locking hub not to work loose, the locking hub must be seated on a non-threaded portion of the stud.
Using aircraft locking nuts, bolt the locking hub to the hub assembly.

Exclusive Cross Bolt Die Locking Ring
Either of those situations can occur when a locking ring cross-screw is fastened too tightly or if the locking ring threads are improperly mated with the die threads.
Forster's locking ring design features an easy to use cross bolt that connects the two ends of the ring instead of a traditional screw design that tightens directly into the threads of the die.
The result is a more precise mating of the locking ring threads to the die threads, a more reliable alignment with no canting, and no damage to the die threads which remain untouched by the cross bolt.

 Chinese M14 Rifle Evaluation
As you fire the rifle, the bolt will "collapse" back onto the locking lugs of the receiver until "enough" surface contact is engaged to stop the rearward force caused by the 50,000 PSI or so that is produced on each firing.
The Chinese bolt is "too long" as it relates to the firing pin bridge of the receiver, which retracts the firing pin on loading.
Next, because the bolt sits so far back in the receiver, the firing pin tail (which exits at the rear of the bolt body) is also too far rearward and thusly, the firing pin is not properly retracted by the receiver's firing pin bridge.
