Lola Granola - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lola Granola was a fictional abstract sculptor in the comic strip Bloom County by Berke Breathed.
Lola grudgingly shaved her legs because Opus was getting rugburn when they danced, which caused her "Dead Head" membership to be revoked.
Opus demanded annulment due to incompatible noses and Lola was spoiled from all birds for the rest of her life (Tweety Bird later tried to get her out on a date, but she refused).

The moderator of the boards was this terrific tech Debaucherry, who also was the primary writer of the A+ Hardcore Hardware Newsletter along with her alts Cherina Sparks/ Lola Granola and her friend Quiche Lorraine (aka Sean McCormick/ Quecumber).
The boards were lively and filled with information mixed with a little whimsy, and since mrobinson52 had just gotten her A+ certification and was planning on teaching classes in A+ test preparation it was the perfect place to learn and exchange information.

Brandy (the main human character) plays a Bobbi Harlow role to the group of funny animals, except when Frank the veterinarian (who resembles a grown up Milo Bloom) plays Opus to her Lola Granola.
The most notable aspect of the actual art is the conspicuous lack of detail; With the exception of the occasional stylized forest panel (no understanding of perspective needed) and an unconvincingly drawn front door at the end of the Brandy & Frank date sequence, there is nary a background to be seen in Meadows #1.
The realistic rendering of Lola Grano -- uh, Brandy clashes with the cartoony supporting cast and makes for a jarring read, which would be fine if there was an underlying aesthetic reasoning for it.

Washington Post, Other Newspapers Won't Run 'Opus' Cartoon Mocking Radical Islam
It features the character Lola Granola explaining to her boyfriend why she wants to be a radical Islamist.
Apparently, Christians are smarter: The Washington Post and several other newspapers around the country did not run Sunday's installment of Berkeley Breathed's "Opus," in which the spiritual fad-seeking character Lola Granola appears in a headscarf and explains to her boyfriend, Steve, why she wants to become a radical Islamist.
Sources told FOXNews.com that the strips were shown to Muslim staffers at The Washington Post to gauge their reaction, and they responded "emotionally" to the depiction of a woman dressed in traditional Muslim garb and espousing conservative Islamic views.

Last week we told you that Salon was running two "Opus" cartoons, featuring spiritual seeker Lola Granola's stint as a "radical Islamist," that many newspapers, including the Washington Post, declined to publish.
This week, Salon is running Berkeley Breathed's original, unedited version of the Lola Granola finale, and it's slightly different from the one approved for distribution to newspapers by the Washington Post Company.
In the strip distributed to newspapers, the final panel substitutes "world" for the term "Middle East." (The Washington Post declined to publish even the edited cartoon in the newspaper.) We liked it better the way Breathed originally drew it, and decided to run that version.

Executive Editor Len Downie decided to kill the strip because he felt the language and depiction of Muslim female dress could be offensive.
He consulted with other editors, one of whom talked to a Muslim staff member, who believed the strip was problematic.
