	Balboa (dance) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Balboa is a form of a swing dance that emerged in the 1930s and 1940s.
		It is danced with the lead and follow dancing where their chests touch for a body lead connection.
		Balboa is also danced to slow music (under 100 beats per minute), which allows more time for intricate footwork and variations.

		Lollies are related to swivels in EC Swing even down to the lead with the right hand on the ladies back.
		Skip ups and lollies are not the same thing, but they are similar.

		The Hey Lollies Square Dance Club was organized under the auspices of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church on April 8, 1965 following completion of a learner's class for 25 couples from the church.
		The learner's class was established by Jack and Betty Smith on January 7, 1965 with Nort Robinson, caller for the Texas Star Square Dance Club, as the instructor.
		The "Hey Lollies" are committed to having fun square dancing and, more importantly, to developing close friendships.

		So far, the dances I've hosted have been pretty small when I didn't have the Prow's to support me. I found out that this dance was opposite a Frontier Squares special, so I changed it to a "New Dancer Dance".
		I rented the Square Dance Center, and was lucky enough to have Mark and Pam Prow cueing for me! The dance was free, and I think most people had a good time.
		I'll be hosting a dance in January hoping to meet a few of you, and will be experimenting with the idea of a day time dance during the week.

		Harvest Moon otherwise known as the "Sultry Siren of Burlesque" recently moved to NY, from SF, where she founded/directed a group called "The Cantankerous Lollies." The Cantantankerous Lollies are the first group to perform at Exotic World, and winners of the "Best Group award several years in a row.
		Harvest is a solo aerialist, as well as burlesque performer, and strut her sultry stuff at such venues as the VA Va Voom Room, Automatic Vaudeville, and Show.
		He has been Assistant Lighting Desiner on projects for Nancy Meehan Dance, Sally Gross and Company, The National Theatre of the Deaf, and "Max Roach's America." He has been Assistant Stage Manager for entertainment for attendees of the 1998 NBA All-Star Game, and the Closing Ceremonies for the 1998 Summer Goodwill Games.

		We had a strobe light, disco ball, smoke machine and spotlight which created the disco dancing theme and massive speakers pumping the sounds.
		We had dancing competitions, food races (they were really fun) and lots of other competitions.
