Having travelled down to London to see the Brides Of Destruction the previous night, it was an opportunity too good to miss to see Queensryche at the Astoria.
I must admit to feeling a little trepidation wondering is the true class and musicianship of Queensryche would get lost after the euphoria and the rock and roll extravagance of the Brides show, however as it turned out this show was equally as good, but for different reasons.
For a two day road trip to London this was an exceptional experience and one I will not forget for a long long time.

I would like to agree with what everone else is saying about the G-A-Y @ London Astoria and G-A-Y late bar, in respect to the horrendous attitude that the door staff/bouncers have at these two places.
I have tried to get into G-A-Y @ London Astoria several times with friends of mine who are also gay and have been turned away as we are not regulars or members.

From the Angel pub we hit the Astoria, bit of a search at the entrance but nothing too heavy and it was quite cool in the venue too.
Astoria '03 is going to go down in history as one of the real classics IMHO.
The barcodeless version sold at the Astoria was a limited pre-release edition of 500 that only arrived that day (hence the lack of pre-publicity).

Thousands of Londoners are fighting to save one of the capital's historic music venues.
No official plans for the site have been announced, but the Astoria could also be subject to a compulsory purchase order for the Crossrail project.
It's a great shame that one of London's best known music venues is destined to disappear but I suspect that more people will be please to see it go than want it to stay.

It should never be closed..it should be listed..it already feels like something from Dante's inferno as you descende into the flness..and pray to God there is not a fire...It smells of stale smoke, old beer and urine...The staff don't speak english and security are rubbish...Still have a sore head from flying beer can on friday.
If these were sorted it would be one of the best places to see a gig in London.

Morgan Heritage: Live at the London Astoria is an admirable look at the band promoting their More Teachings album.
I only recognized one of them as being by Morgan Heritage, however, the other three are a mystery, as the DVD does not make any mention of band names.
The first of three featurettes is a 10-minute radio segment with Morgan Heritage discussing their latest album and their beliefs with London DJ, David Rodigan.

Been there in 2001 at Queen's We Will Rock You-afterparty, where non other than Richard Branson offered me a drink at the bar...but the drinks were free anyways.
Ok irrelevant story...but the Astoria brings me back good memories, so I bet your performance was memorable there as well.
