Local Air Quality Management : This section is all about what Hillingdon Borough Council is doing to assess it's air quality, and the measures which have been and will be put in place to improve areas of poor air quality.
This year has seen the funding of free signs for the borough schools requesting drivers to turn off their engines whilst waiting outside the school plus the provision of information for inclusion in school lessons on improving air quality.
As Hillingdon is one of the boundary boroughs for the scheme, officers are in discussion with TfL with regard to signage.

London Borough of Hillingdon (LBH) embarked on a process mapping project to capture the 'as is' generic processes within the organisation as one part of the Hillingdon Improvement Programme.
LBH customised the Process Navigator template by adding their logo in the Node of the map and the stencil was customised to add 'P', 'F' and 'I' shapes which enabled links through to Policies, Forms and other relevant information.
LBH closely defined the project of which Process Navigator is the core, which resulted in the success of the project.

The London Borough of Hillingdon has beaten government performance targets after introducing 3G-based mobile access to its back-office systems for its benefits inspectors.
They were also able to cut the turnaround time for benefits claims to 35 days because claims were no longer delayed by inspectors returning to the office to enter data.
Hillingdon matched the government funding using its own resources to get the project started.

London Borough of Hillingdon (LBH) will have the first 50m Olympic-sized pool to be built in
Hillingdon Council is investing £22m into the sports and leisure complex and has finalised additional funding to enable a 50m pool to be built as part of the complex, which includes an athletics stadium, sports hall and fitness centre.
While this complex does not include a much needed competition standard diving pool, the LBH is hoping to be able to provide some diving facilities elsewhere in the Borough, but no definite plans exist as yet.
