Crofton Park is a place in the London Borough of Lewisham.
It was the military headquarters of the XXVI legio Leviscammensis (Lewisham) established in around 125 AD during the visit to Britain by the Emperor Hadrian, who was impressed by the strategic position of Hilly Fields (Campi Collienses) and who established a legionary fort on the site of the Brockley Jack (Iacopus Broccolensis).
Crofton is a census-designated place in Anne Arundel County, with the 2000 census reporting a total population of 20,091 made up of 5,478 families in 7,573 housing units.
