London Division, headquartered in London, Ontario, covered the territory between Windsor and Toronto Terminals, along with a number of branchlines radiating off the mainline.
The original terminal in London was located on the east side of Adelaide Street at Central Avenue, where an 11-stall roundhouse with a 65 foot turntable was situated along with a station and yard office on the north side of the property.
London Terminal in 1921 stretched from Richmond Street in the west where the station and sheds were located, to Quebec Street in the east.

The source locality for this sample is in South Lorrain township, an area of the Cobalt district which sported a number of significant mines (Keeley, Lorrain, etc), although the township may have provided just 3% of the silver from the prolific mining region (Petruk, 1971; Anderson, 1990).
The 1903 discovery of high-grade silver ore in the Cobalt district was the precursor to a prospecting and mining boom of rare scope.
The veins vary from roughly 10 cm to 1 km in length, 10 cm to 120 m in vertical extent and from hairline fracture to 1.2 m in thickness (Petruk, 1971).

The London District was proclaimed in January 1800 and marriage returns for the counties of Norfolk, Oxford, Middlesex and Huron as well as Walpole and Rainham Townships had to be returned to the Clerk of the Peace in the District town of Charlotteville.
The District town was initially Charlotteville in the township of the same name but in 1815 the district town was moved to Tisdale’s Mills which was renamed Victoria in 1818 finally in 1826 the district town became London in the county of Middlesex after the court house and jail burnt down in Vittoria.
In 1837 the Talbot District was proclaimed and townships in the County of Norfolk were separated from the London District.
