London Heliport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
London Heliport (IATA: N/A, ICAO: EGLW) at Battersea, London is the capital's main and busiest heliport.
The heliport, once owned by Westland and then Harrods, is a very small site, making use of a jetty to provide a helipad for take-off and landing, and onshore parking for between three and four aircraft, depending upon size.
The heliport provides landing, parking and refuelling services between 08:00 and 21:00 (flights are permitted between 07:00 and 23:00), albeit parking is normally restricted to smaller helicoptor categories.

Battersea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Battersea is an area of London lying on the south bank of the River Thames.
Before the industrial revolution, much of the area was farmland, providing food for the City of London and surrounding population centres; and with particular specialisms, such as growing lavender on Lavender Hill (nowadays denoted by the road of the same name) or pig breeding on Pig īHill (later the site of the Shaftesbury Park Estate).
The London and Southampton Railway Company was the first to drive a railway line from east to west through Battersea, in 1838, terminating at Nine Elms at the north west tip of the area.

 Visual Flight London Review
It is a scenery of London from the West End in the west to the Docklands area in the east, an area of about 12 miles by 6 miles, and extensively populated with buildings.
London City Airport, (EGLC), was built some twenty years ago, as part of the regeneration of the dying Docklands area.
On the ground at London City I was getting 20-25 fps; at 500feet, heading west, passing over all those buildings, it reduced to 15-20; once I got beyond the boundary of Visual Flight London, into the land of the generic autogen, it increased to 25-30.

Deal In the City, i.e. City of London? Metro Business Aviation's the Ticket
While serving all comers, it is the final link in Metro's London chain of FBOs that includes Heathrow, Stansted and Luton airports, with direct 10- to 20-minute flights by Sikorsky S-76 or EC 135 helicopters from all three to within a stone's throw of the financial district.
The heliport racked up almost 12,000 movements last year, and it is perhaps ironic that Metro's investment won't generate many more-local by-laws set a cap of 13,000 in any one year.
Nevertheless, the heliport scored heavily with politicians during the British general elections in June when Prime Minister Tony Blair and opposition leader William Hague launched almost daily helicopter campaigns from Battersea accompanied by several helicopters filled with press, aides and advisors.

From the development of the Company’s first site in Essex, a four bedroom detached house, this was quickly followed by a move into flats and a 13 unit scheme in Romford.
This began with Snaresbrook House which paved the way for more ambitious projects, including the conversion of Highlands Hospital, North London and the conversion of a former Wates’ office block into a landmark residential development (Solent House).
This lead to the Group’s most coveted scheme to date, Royal Earlswood, the conversion of four Grade II listed buildings that previously formed the Royal Earlswood Hospital, providing a total of 109 apartments.
