 Bob Kiley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As of 2004 he is the current Commissioner of Transport for London, the public organisation empowered with running and maintaining London's public transport network.
Kiley was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and educated at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
Kiley was sacked as chairman of London Regional Transport in July 2001 and repeated clashes with his boss, Transport Secretary Stephen Byers.

The seal matrix dates from 1985 and remained in use until July 2003 when LRT was formally dissolved and Transport for London took over the company's functions.
The press may date back as far as the early 1900s and is made of cast iron with a wooden handle and is decorated with a floral pattern in gold leaf.

The Committee was told by LRT that the Underground system in Central London was almost at an intolerable level of overcrowding and that measures such as fares increases would have to be put in place to reduce the growth in passenger demand and thereby stop the situation becoming dangerous.
LRT expects to put in place fare increases over the rate of inflation in each of the next five years.
They state that property developments should not be permitted to cause a transport crisis in Central London or in local areas and that in the meantime, the financing of the Central London Rail proposals should be kept separate from other fares policy issues.

London's transport commissioner Bob Kiley is accusing ministers of trying to create a "smokescreen" to dangers in their Tube plans by sacking him as chairman of London Regional Transport.
As Mr Livingstone's transport commissioner, Mr Kiley is due to take the government to court on Monday to try to stop the PPP plans.
After hearing news of Mr Kiley's sacking from the London Regional Transport Board, Mr Livingstone said the transport commissioner would still be running the system whether or not PPP was used.
