In 1908, Burt took up the post of Lecturer in Psychology and Assistant Lecturer in Physiology at Liverpool University, where he was to work under famed physiologist Sir Charles Sherrington.
In 1913, Burt took the position of a school psychologist for the London County Council (LCC), which was in charge of all the London schools.

Suitably, Hans Eysenck's Chair in London University was held at the Maudsley Hospital -- London's former 'Bedlam' asylum.

He graduated high school in 1956 and then received a BA degree in Chemistry from Kenyon College (Ohio) in 1960, an MA degree in General Psychology from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) 1962, and a PhD degree in Experimental Psychology at University of Pennsylvania in 1965.
Overmier was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota in 1965, Associate Professor in 1968, and Professor in 1971.

Thomdike's influence and his conception of psychology still pervaded the intellectual atmosphere at TC during my tenure and was repeatedly reinforced by an imposing portrait of the great man that hung on the wall above the card-catalogues in the TC library.
As he was one of the leading pioneers of psychology as a natural science, he became the first of my "heroes" in psychology; the other two (Galton and Spearman) I discovered a few years later.
I believed that research and teaching in the field of differential psychology, broadly conceived, was exactly the path for me. So I wrote to Eysenck for his permission and applied to NIMH for a postdoctoral fellowship to spend a year in Eysenck's department in London.

Judge Beaty explained that “Dr. Geier did not have the expertise to perform a differential diagnosis nor did his diganostic study sufficiently rule out other possible causes of the child’s autism” (quoted from EBD Blog, “Autism-thimerosal expert not.
The prevalence for specific pervasive developmental disorder subtypes were, for autistic disorder: 21.6 of 10000; for pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified: 32.8 of 10000; and for Asperger syndrome: 10.1 of 10000.
