C Stock - The original C Stock was a type of steel bodied stock built for the District in 1910, some cars of which survived to the late 1950s.
It was virtually identical to the C and D Stocks of 1910-12 except that it had an elliptical roof in place of the usual District clerestory roof of the period.
The O Stock had an unusual type of traction control known as the Metadyne, which was intended to allow regenerative braking.

The history of London Underground's rolling stock is as complicated as the history of the network itself.
There are two distinct types of line on the London Underground, the sub-surface lines (the earlier lines built on the cut-and-cover method and which use trains that are more or less the same size as those on the national railway network) and the deep-level 'Tube' lines.
Sub-Surface Stock is classified by a letter, which is sometimes followed by the last two digits of the year they were ordered, e.g.

The 1992 Tube Stock was built by Adtranz for the Central Line as the result of the extensive testing of the three 1986 tube stock prototype trains.
At the end of the construction run, an additional ten two-car units were constructed for British Rail for the Waterloo and City Line, which until 1994 was part of the national railway network, and became their Class 482.
When this line passed to London Underground at the start of the process to privatise British Rail on 1 April 1994, these units also passed to London Underground.

The usual accoutrements associated with a London BandB were present -- the wash basin in a closet, the free standing clothes closet, carpeted floor, etc. The carpet was fl with a mottling of green, the bed spreads were silky, frilled and a gosh-awful green in colour.
For Margaret's benefit, I observed that stockings definitely were being worn, but were most likely to be coloured (anything from fl to green to red, orange or yellow) or patterned or both.
