Lone Pine is a census-designated place located in Inyo County, California.
In addition, Lone Pine is at the junction of Whitney Portal Road and U.S. 395; Whitney Portal is the road which leads to the trailheads to both Mount Whitney and the John Muir Wilderness.
Immediately south of Lone Pine is the junction with SR 136, which leads to Death Valley.
