 Longshanks, symphonic rock band
The band Longshanks started out as a one-song-recording-project, brought together in October of 1987 (in Delft) to start rehearsing for a recording of a song called "Cycles and Circles".
I had written the lyrics in March and had spent an afternoon in April with lead-guitarist Peter van Heijningen to discuss the music I had composed, which I later refined.
When we started rehearsals only my own guitar-part and the first draft of the lead-vocal-part had been written, but my companions were all of them very experienced (some of them had already been playing for ten years, whereas I was only just starting out).
