All of the prefecture-level cities except Longyan, Sanming, and Nanping are found along the coast.
The 9 prefecture-level divisions are subdivided into 85 county-level divisions (26 districts, 14 county-level cities, and 45 counties).
Hakka, another subdivision of spoken Chinese, is spoken around Longyan by the Hakka people who live there.

A large number of Hakka songs only employ three notes, but this in no way hampers the expression of the melodies and the feelings of the songs.
The following areas are the chief places where Hakka songs are concentrated: Meizhou, Xingning, jiaoling, Wuhua and Dabu in northeast Guangdong Province; Wan'an, Suichuan, Xingguo and Ruijin in jiangxi Province; and Ninghua, Changting, Longyan and Shanghang in west Fujian Province.
Representative songs are Both Sldes of my New Emfbroibered Purse Are Red Seeing Him off in His Boat and Autumn Moon Reunion from Guangdong; Singing a MOuntain Song from Jiangxi, and Gazinga the Autumn Moon, The DownPour and the Drizzle and The Wind Makes the Bamboo Leaves Tinkle from Fujan.

David Branner's Neouiue Mac Font (based on the New York font) and Shyrbaw Mac Font (based on the Times font) include Pinyin tone diacritics over vowels and are available upon request from David Prager Branner (Director, Yuen Ren Society for the Promotion of Chinese Dialect Fieldwork).
Also freely available upon request is his Longyan Mac Font, which is monowidth and can place any diacritic over any character (vowel or consonant).
