		The higher ground and the valleys were gradually eroded and weathered by glaciers and rainwater over many thousands of years, with the soil being removed and deposited to from fertile meadows in Middle Lunesdale in front of Ruskin's View.

		A further two hundred yards along the track a house comes into view ahead at a point where about twenty yards up the hill on the left a solitary large boulder resides.
		The path splits and a further hundred yards on comes back together just before passing about twenty yards to the right of a solitary tree.
		The path is currently almost bisecting two parallel walls, which are running along about one hundred and fifty yards either side of the path.

		Lancashire used the term Hundred to define an ancient area of administration which probably derives from the area having to supply 100 armed knights to serve the monarch or similar.
		For taxation purposes, the Hundred was used for division until into the 19th century.
		Blackburn, (hundred of) adjoins on the W. to Amounderness hundred, on the S.W. to Leyland hundred, and on the S. to Salford hundred, and on the N.-N.E. and E. it is bounded by the County of York.

	Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club Incorporated
		Records of who were the first members for that season are unclear, but eleven Point Lonsdale members gained their Surf Bronze in February of 1948.
		In March of 1953, a mass rescue alarm was raised by the Lonsdale Lighthouse keeper.
		Point Lonsdale was the first Victorian (and in fact the first club outside of NSW) to win a Senior Men’s Surf Boat title at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.

		Lonsdale and Laura Ragg’s preface gives a detailed appraisal of the book, its origin and content, showing it to be a forgery.
		At the beginning of the fourteenth century, the pope of the Roman Church, Boniface the Eighth, decreed that the "jubilee" must be observed once very hundred years.
		In AD 1343, this decree was countermanded by a subsequent Roman pope, Clemens the sixth, decreeing that it must again be observed every fifty years.

	Surf Club
		A meeting was held, with the assistance of Mr Alex Lowe, who was the proprietor of the General Store in Point Lonsdale, however there was not a great deal of community interest in the idea.
		This training program was a major initiative to the club as it trained children in surf awareness, surf life saving competition, basic first aid and resuscitation, as well as being an avenue to membership recruitment.
		Point Lonsdale was the first Victorian club to receive a place in the Australian Titles, when Mr Des Webb gained a third place in the Senior Belt Race Title.

	PORT PHILLIP SHIPWRECKS
		The Rip as it is appropriately called is flanked by Lonsdale reef on the west and Nepean reef on the east, with less than one kilometre of navigatable water between them, at a depth not exceeding 30 metres.
		This in itself should pose no major problem, however it is the depth that creates havoc: a deep trough across the entrance, extending down to a hundred metres, creates turmoil on the surface as the tide moves forward, and the seas pound down and rise upward with then tide.
		The tug struck the Point Lonsdale Reef and was so seriously damaged that she was forced to release the tow line and make for Queenscliff, leaving the barque helpless in the fog, with the result that she herself ran on to the reef.
