Dogs Playing Poker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Of the 16 paintings, the nine of Coolidge's paintings in which dogs are seated around a card table playing poker and smoking cigars have become astronomically popular, being described as "indelibly burned into the public subconscious".
Already keen on painting dogs in human situations, in 1903 an advertising firm, Brown and Bigelow commissioned a series of 16 paintings from Coolidge to depict dogs acting like humans for cigar advertisements.
Looks Like Four of a Kind is a well-known painting that was a follow-on to the original series.

Kronar was like a statue but the little vein on the side of his head was going a mile a minute.
By four in the morning Kronar was gone and I had made so many trips to my pack that most of what I owned was sitting across the table in front of Roberta or behind her on the coffee table which she had pulled up to hold her extra winnings.
Roberta gave me a look that was almost pitying as she pushed her huge bet into the center of the table.

This kind of moral argument is almost unheard of in proceduralist literature, a clue that procedure is adrift from the moral moorings of the substantive criminal law.
Nolo contendere pleas were also more likely to be used for white-collar crimes such as fraud, counterfeiting, food and drug, and environmental laws.
The much more likely outcome, however, is maintenance of the status quo coupled with growing public cynicism about the entire system.

RPGnet: Review of Gang of Four
Gang of Four is essentially a card game packaged as a board game, a type of packaging which honestly bugs me a little bit because it tends to create large, mostly empty boxes, and because it increases price point.
There's only one oddity: a "Gang of Four" (four of a kind) can be played on top of anything, no matter how many cards were in the previous plays.
Gang of Four is a member of a family of Value Climbing card games, where play continues along an ascending ladder of card values until the top is reached; they tend to combine features of Set Making and Card Matching games, to look at them from a purely Western perspective.
