Dingwall Pursuivant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dingwall Pursuivant of Arms in Ordinary is the title of a Scottish officer of arms.
The office is currently vacant, as the reduction in the number of pursuivants in the Court of the Lord Lyon from six to three in the late nineteenth century means only three titles are in use at any one time.
The current Ross Herald of Arms in Ordinary, Charles John Burnett, held the office of Dingwall Pursuivant from 1983 to 1988, before he was promoted.

ROBBIE THE PICT v. PROCURATOR FISCAL, DINGWALL, 07 December 2004, Lord Hamilton+Lord Justice Clerk+Lord Osborne
In the Opinion of the Lord Justice General of 21 December 2001, it is narrated that the petitioner had accepted that a decision by the criminal appeal court on the merits of a case was not susceptible to review by the exercise of the nobile officium, a view which he described as undoubtedly correct.
In particular, he complained that the opinion of Lord Sutherland had not dealt with the argument that the assignation which is referred to in the course of the opinion was not a probative document at common law not having been dated or signed and that it bore no proper name of any supposed signatory.
That court had decided that Lord Sutherland had taken into account, amongst other things, the full argument which had been put before it, including the complaint that the assignation statement was undated and unsigned.
