GameSpy: EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath Interview
LDoN is built for single groups of characters that want to push their way through a dungeon from beginning to end.
These dungeons will be created on the server specifically for their use, and will only exist as long as the characters are having their adventure.
These dungeons will not be randomly generated from parts, but factors such as the level of the party and the type of adventure that they want to undertake will determine what sort of encounters they have.

EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath for PC Review - PC EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath Review
Lost Dungeons is clearly suited for dedicated EverQuest players, but it offers little or nothing to bring new or past players into the fold.
Lost Dungeons introduces relatively bite-sized missions to EverQuest, which ensures that player groups can always find somewhere to go and something to do.
What you'll end up fighting in the lost dungeons depends on the experience level of your party members (players between levels 20 and 65 may accept adventures), which in theory ensures that a suitable challenge is guaranteed.

EQ: Lost Dungeons of Norrath review for the PC
Lost Dungeons of Norrath is the latest expansion to Sony Entertainment’s EverQuest, the biggest massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the western world.
The auto-generated dungeon is also tuned to the strength of your group: the more people and higher levels in your group, the tougher the dungeon.
One good thing about the Lost Dungeons is that certain classes that were previously underappreciated are now in much greater demand, simply because it is hard to complete the adventures without them.

EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath - MegaGames mmog
With that out of the way, the latest in a long line of expansion, The Lost Dungeons of Norrath, continues the epic EverQuest experience through addition dungeons, adventures, and items known as "augmentations." What the expansion doesn't do is make the game any better for low-level new players.
The Lost Dungeons expansion is clearly designed for high-level players since many of the adventures are difficult for groups of experienced level-65 players.
For the most part, these new dungeons are pretty straightforward and don't offer anything new.

Lost Dungeons of Norrath, the fifth EverQuest expansion, will offer a new kind of dungeon-crawling experience.
Robert Pfister: Lost Dungeons of Norrath's dungeons are reminiscent of a more-traditional type of dungeon-crawl experience longtime gamers will remember--a small group of players battling monsters through a single dungeon to the climax of that adventure.
RP: Lost Dungeons of Norrath revolves around five areas with five distinct themes, some taking their origin from areas currently in the game and others that were once talked about only in legend and have now been brought to life.

In lost dungeons there is no way a grp of low 50's will let a 48 rogue join, becuase the "automatic adjust"ment to the party makeup would lessen the value of the loot and potential items.

And, assuming all those hurdles are overcome, the loot inside ranges from OK (the same as any named NPCs in the dungeon might have had on them) to a mere handful of coins, calling into question as to whether the extraordinary efforts needed to open them were worth it after all.
Having said all that, the dungeons themselves are a great deal of fun, and offer 90 minute bursts of intense excitement, with rewards of several types awaiting successful adventurers.

As for the amount of content each dungeon will have, it depends upon the level of the group playing, the adventure selected, and the usual unforeseen dangers, but sessions should take anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes to complete.
I believe the way it works is when you "enter" the dungeon with your group, the server creates a random dungeon from the 8 layouts provided and populates it with monsters for your group.
When another group comes along, it creates another dungeon (possibly different layout, possibly the same layout) for that other group and they play in that dungeon all by themselves, even though it may be the same layout, it's a different dungeon.

The concept of Lost Dungeons of Norrath (LoDN) is to put together a group to take on an adventure given to you by one of the several new LoDN quest folk - located in EverFrost, North Ro, South Ro, Butcherblock Mountains and the 'Tunnel' in East Commonlands.
The level of the critters you will encounter is based on the levels of the folk in your group (in most cases I was fighting deep blue [just a level or two lower than I was] monsters) but the difficulty of the adventure can be adjusted by the group leader before they accept the adventure.
In either case Lost Dungeons of Norrath is a welcome addition to the constantly growing world of EverQuest and well deserving of the 4 GiN gems I have given it.

The new EverQuest expansion, Lost Dungeons of Norrath aims to provide an entirely new gameplay experience to the venerable and famous MMORPG with pure dungeoneering, quick (by EverQuest standards) adventures, and tailored to deliver just the right amount of challenge to each adventuring party.
Previous EverQuest expansions offered new zones; while there are 48 new zones, what Lost Dungeons of Norrath is offering is adventures themselves with the greatest ease-of-use ever in terms of set up and start up.
Many of the classic dungeons like Howling Stones or Sebilis just weren't really done unless a full, balanced group could be fielded, and it usually took an hour of planning and travel just to make it happen.
