The census enumorator states "The settlements of lots 35 and 36 was commenced as I have acertained in the years 1771 and 1772 by Captain John McDonald brother Donald McDonald Esquires afterwards large numbers of settlers followed Captain McDonald from Scotland to settle on his lands here.
1841 Census of lot 36 records the family of Patrick McKenna, he is between the ages of 16 and 45 with 3 males and 1 female under age 16 and 1 female 16 to 45 and another female age 45 to 60.
The land is bounded by cor of lot 37 and 48 on the NW angle of land by John Davidson.

The Polly under the command of Captain Darby, arrived in the harbour of Orwell Bay Prince Edward Island on Sunday, August 7th, 1803.
Most all were Presbyterians from Skye, (Lord Selkirk called her "The Skye Ship") and most of them settled in or around Belfast Prince Edward Island, although a few bought land near Tyron.
John and Margaret settled first in lot 48 near the mouth of Ch'town harbour, where they remained for a few years calling the place Kinloch, and then moved to Orwell Cove, where they were known as the Kinloch Macdonalds.
