Lotus was the only team he ever drove for, and he was one of Chapman's closest friends; the two quiet personalities seemed to match.
Lotus' latest release is the Lotus 119, which ran (the wrong way, downhill) at the 2002 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Lotus were involved because they were approached by Delorean to put the finishing touches to the troublesome chassis design (they scrapped it and used an Esprit chassis, a fact which was kept quiet at the time).

Lotus aided in some engineering and styling of the Tesla Roadster, an electric sports car, as well as licensing some technologies to Tesla Motors and constructing the Roadster at their plant in Hethel.

 Lotus 63 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As the Lotus 56 for Indy 500 (and later F1), the 63 chassis was designed around a four wheel drive system.
The 63 was an evolution of the 49, but featured wedge shaped rear bodywork and integrated wings, which would be used to great effect in the Lotus 72.
John Miles, Lotus' third driver was entrusted the task of developing the car, while Graham Hill and Jochen Rindt used the 49 in the early races of 1969.

The wedge shaped Lotus 63 was developed by Maurice Phillippe and resembled in appearance at least, the cars created by Lotus for the Indianapolis 500.
Rindt who had claimed pole position understandably refused to even bother with the Lotus 63 but Hill after qualifying another 49B took the 4-wheel drive car and recorded a time of 1:28.3 which was 7 1/2 seconds off the pace.
The sight of the old Lotus 49, the 72 was still not ready, being thrown around the tight city circuit was a something not soon forgotten by those lucky enough to witness the event.
