Lotus Excel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Type 89 Lotus Excel, built from 1982 to 1992, was a front engine rear drive car based on the earlier Lotus Eclat, which itself was based on the earlier Lotus Elite II.
Part of the deal between Lotus and Toyota included the use of many Toyota components in Lotus' cars.
The original Excel (aka the Eclat Excel) used the W58 manual transmission, driveshafts, rear differential, 14x7" alloy wheels, and door handles with Toyota's Mark II Celica Supra, which was made from 1982-1986.

In Lotus the default of the minor tick mark was 1/2, but I swear that I was able to change the default so it would adjust correctly to new data.
In Excel the default is to plot the first observation directly on the axis unless of course you include an extra blank cell in the series, which I usually do.
Excel has an impressive array of statistical functions, but many of them are marred by a poor implementation of the standard deviation calculation.

I love Lotus cars - my first was a Lotus Elan Plus Two, bought a couple of years after my brother had owned one.
The Japanese were particularly looking for classic models, including Lotus Europa, Elan and occasionally the Lotus Esprit/Espirit and Lotus Excel.
The Lotus Elise has become a firm favourite at the shows and is attracting the Caterham Seven owner, as this model is more practical, but retaining the sheer exhilarating fun of a car designed for sheer driving pleasure.

In Lotus 1-2-3, versions 3.x and later, you can create a graph on a chart sheet or create the chart as an object on the worksheet.
Lotus 1-2-3 evaluates Boolean expressions to 0 or 1 and displays 0 or 1 in the cell.
For example, the @VLOOKUP function in Lotus 1-2-3 searches for an exact match in the first column; the VLOOKUP worksheet function in Microsoft Excel assumes the first column is sorted and finds the closest value in the first column that does not exceed the lookup value.

Excel (even v8, Excel 97) does not handle AND() or OR() in array formulas; other versions have also had problems with MIN() and MAX() in array formulas.
Excel 7 (95) and later seem to be MUCH better at following the documented format (in that they no longer add spurious `M'atrix modifiers like Excel 5 did).

Baarns Publishing - Microsoft Excel Frequently Asked Questions on Lotus 123 Conversion - Microsoft Office Superstore
This happens because in Lotus, formatting was at one time applied to a row or column in this file by selecting the entire row or column and applying the format, rather than just selecting the specific range.
Once this has occured, and you attempt to convert the file from Lotus to Excel, the extra formatting fools Excel into thinking that the entire Lotus worksheet is occupied with data.
The solution is to delete all the empty rows and columns from the end of the actual data to the point where Excel thinks the data ends.
