Lou Saban (born October 13, 1921), a legendary coach in the American Football League, played college football at Indiana University where he was named All-Big Ten as a quarterback one year and All-Big Ten as a fullback in another.
Saban was twice voted to the league's All-Star team as a linebacker.

Nick Lou Saban (born October 31, 1951 in Fairmont, West Virginia) is the head coach of the National Football League's Miami Dolphins.
Saban arrived at LSU as the school was in the midst of a two year long slide from contention in the Southeastern Conference.
Nick's paternal grandparents, Stanko Saban and Anna Mihalic are of Croatian descent.

Saban started on his goal towards an AFL championship the day he was hired by the Bills as director of player personnel after being fired as Patriots coach on October 27, 1961.
Saban charged into the job, trying to find new talent and, when he was able to have a hand in the Bills draft, he helped select two stellar players that would help shape the Bills future when the Bills selected Tom Sestak and linebacker Mike Stratton.
Saban held a press conference where he said, "Because Cookie has asked the forgiveness of his teammates and admitted to me he has been 1000% wrong in incidents leading to his dismissal, I have reconsidered and will give him an opportunity to prove he is a part of the Buffalo Bills team.

The Bills went on to lose their first game after winning nine in a row and some say Gilchrist was used as a scapegoat by Saban in a ploy to ignite the team and to solidify his hold on the team.
Saban really had no choice, the Bills were on a roll and were riding a great defense but without Cookie they had no chance of winning anything.

Saban got the plum Miami job simply because he is Belichick's friend and fellow Croatian.
Saban may be good with X and O, but from his press conference, he came across as a pre-Brady robotic Bill Belichick, giving lecture in power point about creating a "system".
I'll give Saban credit for one thing so far, he probably was instrumental in the Dolphins not going of their way to raid the Patriots coaching staff.
