Surveys were conducted in 1998 to determine the distribution and abundance of zebra mussels in Upper and Lower Lough Erne.
This indicates the presence of a breeding population in Upper Lough Erne.

Lough Erne is a large lake we'd been hoping we could paddle in with our kayak.
The lake is 26 miles long and up to 5 miles across, so we were lucky it was an unseasonably calm weekend.
