Louis "Two Gun" Alterie (2 August 1886-18 July 1935) was an Irish-American Prohibition gangster and a member of Chicago's North Side Gang.
Alterie killed more then 20 rival hoods during the North Side gang wars against the South Side group of Johnny Torrio and Al Capone, the Genna brothers gang of "Little Italy", and other enemy factions.
In June 1935, Alterie was forced to testify against Ralph Capone (the brother of Al Capone, nicknamed "Bottles") on a tax evasion charge.

Alterie was nearly insane with grief at the funeral, and he offered to meet the killers on the corner of State and Madison Streets in Chicago for an old west-style shootout.
When Alterie did return to Chicago in October of 1933, he was promptly arrested and spent a month in jail for "vagrancy." He made an abortive attempt to return to Colorado, but was promptly recognized and reluctantly returned to Chicago.
