Louise Dacquay (June 25, 1940-) was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1990 to 2003, and served as speaker of the assembly from 1995 to 1999.
Dacquay served on the Winnipeg City Council from 1986 to 1989, representing the Langevin Ward.
Dacquay was re-elected by an increased margin in the 1995 provincial election, and was appointed speaker of the assembly by premier Gary Filmon on May 23, 1995.

Dacquay was first elected to the Manitoba legislature in the 1990 provincial election, defeating incumbent Liberal Herold Driedger by 47 votes in the south-end Winnipeg riding of Seine River.

Seine River MLA Louise Dacquay will be proposed as the Speaker of Manitoba's 36th Legislature, Premier Gary Filmon announced today.
From 1986 to 1989, she was a Winnipeg city councillor, serving on a wide variety of boards and committees including the Winnipeg Public Library Board and the Winnipeg Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
In addition, Dacquay is a past president of Tourism Winnipeg, past vice-chair of the St. Boniface Museum Board and a past member of the St. Boniface Hospital Advisory Board, the Zoological Society, the Variety Club and the Kidney Foundation.

I also note that long time Tory MLA for Seine River Louise Dacquay has lost her seat to former high school teacher and new NDP candidate Teresa Oswald.
Seine River has been a Tory riding for quite a while now, and Louise Dacquay was considered a strong candidate.
My family lives in the Seine River riding, and my brother was one of her campaign volunteers and one of her students many years ago, so I'm going to count this as a win for my side.
