		Loussios flows along a beautiful ravine in which Kolokotronis and other chieftains had their retreat during the Independance Revolution of 1821,against Ottoman Empire.
		In the area, one will discover the Secret School, the Aimyalon Philosopher and the Saint Ioannis monasteries, all very important and with a significant course and history through the ages.

	Kernitsis gorge 1st attempt (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
		Today, Konidis, Mpourlekas and I, after retreating Erymanthos again (running high at 125cm), decided to head back towards Dimitsana for some Upper Loussios creeking.
		Greco guidebook was reporting the gorge of Kernitsis monastery unrunnable, but we thought to check it out, just in case...
		What we saw for almost 1km, was crystal clear water flowing down 1-2m ledges, not more than grade IV(see photo on top).
