  Lovebug Starski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
His began his career as a record boy in 1971 as hip hop first appeared in the Bronx area of New York City, and he eventually became a DJ at the club Disco Fever in 1978.
Starski recorded his first single, "Positive Life", on Tayster records in 1981.
A five-year jail sentence derailed Starski's career in the late 1980s but in the 1990s he began DJing again with old friend DJ Hollywood.

"Love Bug" Starski is an MC and DJ who goes back all the way to the early days of Pete DJ Jones.
Starting out as an MC for Pete and later going solo, "Love Bug" gained a reputation for his versatility: he was one of the few DJs who could play for both the B-Boys and the disco crowds in the mid-'70s.
In 1983 "Love Bug" released "You Gotta Believe." The song was an enormous inspirational in New York City.
