		Glam came in on the platform heels of heavy metal, so named by a Steppenwolf tune which referred to the motorcycle sound of "heavy metal thunder." The music had a harder edge to it, some say as a backlash to the sweet sounds of the Summer of Love.
		Metal music seemed to divide, amoeba like, forming many offshoots including progressive, power, hardcore, thrash metal which split off into death, grindcore, and fl metal.
		The buzzword now is crossover, with metal and hardcore meeting in metalcore, industrial metal which borrows the electronics of the techno sound, alternative metal bringing in the sounds of grunge and punk, funk metal, and rap metal or rap core.

		I think what made HIM so special in the Rock community was Valo's voice and the passionate music that was performed on "Greatest Love Songs" and "Deep Shadows" and "Brilliant Highlights".
		Perhaps, I wasn't in a good mood when I first heard it, but as I listen again, all the trade mark sounds are there along with the romantic voice of Valo and the dark lyrics that make this band so grand.
		I guess when I first heard "Buried Alive By Love" I was taken aback a bit and expected a whole new direction from the band.
