Here is what EVERY website about the "Loveland Frog" sightings (or whatever) is completely forgetting to mention, and I find it to be a BIG part of this story...
So, the theory is that the chemicals from the factory leaked into the river across the street, and mutated the frogs to look like the creatures that the policemen and the others had seen...
As I understand it, the monstrous nature of that frog was brought about by a highly toxic deadhead who attempted to lick a normal frog, but the chemical transfer actually caused the frog to absorb the essence of the deadhead.

I grew up right near Loveland OH……if you can find references to it anywhere, there was also an incident in the Ohio River in either the 50s or 60s where a woman who was swimming with a friend reported being grabbed by something unknown in the river.
When I was younger, I always considered the Loveland Frog Men and the South Carolina Lizard Man as likely alien visitors, finding that far more probable than bipedal amphibians/lizards with no fossil evidence whatsoever having survived to the present day.
