In 1955 twenty-six dedicated men chartered an organization to serve the citizens of the Macungie area.
The Ambulance, a 1948 Packard, was originally turned over to the Boro of Macungie by the V.F.W. Home Association and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary on May 30, 1955.
Currently the Macungie Ambulance Corps respondes to over 2,000 emergency calls annually as well as providing stand-by services at different community activities.
