About the Loyalist Parkway   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
By April 1988 the Master Plan was completed for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and was formally approved by the Municipalities through which the Parkway runs; "that portion of Highway # 33 between Kingston and Trenton being predominantly within the counties of Lennox and Addington and Prince Edward County".
The Master Plan established the initiative to coordinate long term planning to benefit the entire region by the preservation and enhancement of the nationally significant Heritage of the area and the scenic qualities of the route.
This lapsed in 1999 and the volunteers reformed as the Loyalist Parkway Association with the support and involvement of four municipalities, Loyalist Township, Greater Napanee, Prince Edward County and Quinte West.
