Loyola is a great school, with wonderful traditions and great academic and athletic programs.
Last year's Loyola team had some good athletes, but depended a lot on Mollins for most of the offense, and most observers figured that with his departure, a mostly new crew and a new coach, Loyola would not be a threat this season.
Billy was on last year's varsity, and showed good passing skills from the high post, and he's also got a nice handle, which is good if the post needs to put the ball on the floor to avoid a double team.

Steve Grady, one of the winningest high school football coaches in California history, has announced his resignation as head coach of Loyola High School of Los Angeles.
In 1995, Grady received the Medallion of St. Ignatius of Loyola for outstanding service to Loyola High School and for devotion to the cause of Jesuit education by then-president.
One of the stars of Loyola's first CIF championship team in 1962, Grady led the state in scoring, with 35 touchdowns, and in rushing, with 2,097 yards, and earned both CIF AAAA and California player-of-the-year awards.

The first is the decision, in 1974 of Loyola High School, a Jesuit college prep school in Los Angeles, to recruit its largest minority class ever.
While I had been out of school for four years, my younger peers fresh out of high school had the same foggy memory of math that I did.
I learned after graduation from a friend seeking a teaching credential, that the state had declared special emergency to shortcut the credentialling process for individuals willing to teach mathematics at the high school level, and even more shortcuts on top of that for individuals willing to teach in poor fl and Latino school districts.

The Society of Jesus established Loyola Blakefield, formerly Loyola High School, in 1852 after St. Mary’s Seminary closed St. Mary’s College in order to concentrate on the education of future priests.
On September 15, 1852 both Loyola College and Loyola High School opened their doors on Holiday Street under the tutelage of the Reverend John Early, S.J., the first president.
In 1921, the schools split and the college moved to its new Evergreen Campus while the high school remained downtown.
