 Lucian Blaga
Blaga really examines the unseen and unheard side of the world and conspires against the real, as the modern spirit Rimbaud had requested… Or, if we use a specific verb for Blaga, we could say that the poet closely examines the mysterious secret, the deep side of things, in short, the transcendental side.
Another alliance specific to Blaga, taken over from the Romanticists and treated in the manner of the expressionists, is the match between an explosive vitality and a tormenting persistent feeling of the end, between ashes and the frenzy of living, between limitation and boundlessness.
Irrespective of the public opinion’s fluctuation, Blaga remains a profound poet with a predictable evolution since the period of the poems Poemele luminii (The Poems of Light) and Pasii profetului (The Footprints of the Prophet).

20th WCP: Michael Polanyi and Lucian Blaga as Philosophers of Knowledge
In the same manner the Romanian philosopher Lucian Blaga, (1895-1961) realized that science is unstable, an instability brought about by the very historical relativity of cultural creations of which science is a part.
Blaga's stylistic studies of science demonstrate that anthropology and the study of culture are capable of shedding light on the philosophical problematic of science especially by elucidating the nature of creative factors in the history of thinking.
This is why modern physics is subject to a crisis, Blaga believes that he was succeeded in demonstrating that this undular-corpuscular theory of light's nature is actually a part of a sui-generis type of knowledge, that he called 'minus-knowledge'.

Central Europe Review - Romania: The Mioritic Space
Blaga considered the variants of Miorita to reflect "Romanianness" (possibly through the unconscious and conscious primary and secondary categories of the poets' minds) because it emphasises a profound love of nature and stoical acceptance of destiny.
Blaga believed that Catholicism and Protestantism encouraged the growth of cities whereas Orthodoxy was suited to the development of villages.
Lucian Blaga provided a complex theory which united the origins of the Romanian nation into a national identity constructed by the Romanians themselves and moulded from a combination of culture and the environment.

Poet, playwright and philosopher, member of the Romanian Academy, Lucian Blaga has made his debut with a poetry when he was only 15 years old.
Read either as a “modernist” poet or as a “traditionalist” one, Blaga actually achieves a fertile, balanced synthesis of the time’s renewing tendencies and the permanencies of the Romanian ethnic stock.
After Eminescu, Blaga was the poet most profoundly involved in the construction of a national poetical myth, on which he conferred universal value.

Blaga the poet is inextricably bound up with Blaga the philosopher.
We must take him at his word, for examples abound of ideas and images appearing first in poems that only later on would be fully elaborated in his trilogies.
Yet, it is equally true that Blaga the poet and Blaga the philosopher pursued similar goals: to uncover the meaning of existence and to account for man's place in the universe.
